Women
who don’t readily appreciate baseball can appreciate some ASS-pects of it right? Third
baseman for the New York Mets, number 5, is none other than David Wright. He is right handed, 209 pounds, born December
20, 1982, in Norfolk, Virginia, resides offseason in Chesapeake, Virginia and
has killer dimples.
Women
all over the stadium sport his Jersey, hold up “marry me David Wright” signs,
and simply swoon over this superstar.
But why? Is it because David
Wright seems to be a very down to earth person? He seems like the All American
Boy that women go crazy for. He is kind,
sweet, and loves his family. This is
apparent. Most boys from the south are
this way, aren’t they?
He
has dated a bit, including model, Molly Beers, and American Sportscaster and
journalist, Erin Andrews. Not quite
simple tastes. However, he is single at
the moment. David Wright comments on women and dating, “I don’t want to put
them in the same category as drugs, but women can be a … a distraction. I have
to remember, baseball is the reason I have my apartment, baseball is the reason
I’m on the cover of video games—baseball is what I do. I’m not saying I don’t
ever … I mean, I go on dates, but I’ll just never let something like that
become as important as the game. Not right now, at least.” The players tease him because David thinks
that all women are interested in him… Ex-teammate Paul lo Duca says, “…we give
him some sh*t, keep his feet on the earth. I tell him that if he was a garbage man,
not a single woman would notice him. [Mets’ pitcher Tom] Glavine always says,
‘When I was your age, every woman loved me too. It’s not you, it’s the uniform
on your back.’” How true is that? You
would have to be pretty lonely and get up pretty damn early to notice if your
garbage man is hot or not, although it can arouse some pretty great fantasies;
this coming from a big fan of the book, Shades of Grey.
David
is not quite a simpleton either, even though his historical birthplace may have
you think so. He hired a decorator because he stated that he wanted the
ultimate bachelor pad and could not choose colors and had no taste. His
bachelor pad costs $6 million, according to Lauren Starke of New York
Magazine. He has five flatscreens in
his apartment so that he can watch every football game!
It’s
not a bad thing. People are entitled to their fortunes and spend it however
they choose. David Wright does a lot of
good as well. He established the David Wright
Foundation in 2005. The mission of the David Wright
Foundation is to provide aid and assistance toward the health, emotional
development, and education for children in need. Through programs and annual
events, the DWF strives to enhance the quality of life for children of the New
York, Tri-State, and Norfolk, VA metro areas. The foundation increases
awareness about multiple sclerosis and to raise money for multiple sclerosis
organizations and projects.
